What's collected

This site uses Umami, a privacy-focused analytics tool I run on my own server (analytics.sctr.tech) — the data isn't shared with Google or any other third-party analytics company. It records page views, referring site, country-level location, and general device and browser type. Umami doesn't set cookies, doesn't store your full IP address, and can't track you across other sites.

Umami's optional session replay and heatmap feature is also enabled. It records anonymized interaction data — clicks, scrolls, cursor movement, and page navigation — so I can see where layouts confuse people or where links get missed. Text you type into any field is masked, and the replays aren't tied to your identity.

Beyond that, no other cookies, trackers, or analytics tools run on this site, and there's no login, newsletter signup, or contact form that would collect personal information directly.

You can opt out by blocking analytics scripts with a browser extension or content blocker — the site works identically either way.

Hosting

This site is served as static files by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel logs standard request data (IP address, timestamp, requested page, user agent) as part of normal operation. I don't have access to raw server logs beyond what Vercel's own dashboard exposes, and I don't use them for anything.

Third-party links

This site links out to GitHub, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Spotify, and scootr.ca. Once you click through, you're subject to that site's own privacy policy — this page only covers jeremyshields.ca itself.

Your options

Because so little is collected — and none of it identifies you — there's not much to request or delete. For questions, concerns, or a request to be told exactly what's held about you, email hello@jeremyshields.ca.

Changes

If what this site collects or who it's shared with changes — for example, a move to a different host — this page will be updated to reflect it, and the date below will move.
